In the village of Akhpradzor a soldier from Armenia's Ministry of Defense lost his life due to Azerbaijani armed forces' actions. The incident occurred on August 21 at approximately 3:30 p.m., when Azerbaijani units opened fire against Armenian combat outposts near Akhpradzor.
Tragically, the incident resulted in the death of Vanik Aram Ghazaryan, a serviceman from the N military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense. The news was confirmed by Armenia's Defense Ministry, which promptly reported the incident and offered its sincerest condolences to the family, relatives, and fellow servicemembers of Vanik Ghazaryan.
Vanik Ghazaryan was from the Getap village of Vayots Dzor and was a young soldier of just 19 years old. He had been drafted into the army a year and one month ago and was serving in the capacity of a sergeant. Vanik had initially served for six months in Hoktemberyan before being stationed in Vardenis.
His aspirations went beyond his military service, as he was admitted to the state academy of EMS crisis management prior to joining the army. His untimely death is a stark reminder of the ongoing ceasefire violations by Azerbaijan and the gravity of the situation.
Armenia continues to mourn the loss of a brave young soldier and acknowledges the challenges its servicemembers face in safeguarding the nation's security. The incident underscores the need for a lasting resolution to the ongoing attacks and an enduring commitment to peace in the region.
