Armenians Celebrate Christmas Eve in Newly Reopened Etchmiadzin Cathedral
The Armenian Report joined the events in celebration of Armenian Christmas Eve in the newly reopened Etchmiadzin Cathedral. January 6 marks the Armenian Apostolic Church's Feast of the Holy Nativity and Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Christ, commemorating Jesus' Birth and Baptism.
The celebration includes the Candlelight Divine Liturgy, a rare and sacred event signifying divine light and blessings, followed by believers taking home lit candles representing the Bethlehem Star's guiding light. The Blessing of the Waters Service, believed to bring healing, and the Blessing of the Houses tradition further enrich this spiritual time.
This sacred observance invites reflection, faith, and a deep connection to God's teachings, uniting Armenians worldwide.
