Armenian gymnastics star Arthur Davtyan has once again made headlines by clinching his third gold medal in the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup series. Competing in the fifth stage of the tournament in Doha, Davtyan claimed gold in the vault final with an impressive score of 14.449 points. He had qualified for the final round with a score of 13.899.
Davtyan, an Olympic silver and bronze medalist, world champion, two-time European champion, and two-time World Cup winner, now adds a fourth medal from the World Cup stages this year to his growing collection.
The Armenian team, led by head coach Hakob Serobyan, had an outstanding showing in Doha, capturing a total of four medals. Young gymnast Hamlet Manukyan became a double gold medalist on the pommel horse, earning a top score of 14.700 points. Vahagn Davtyan, a two-time European silver medalist, secured a silver medal on the rings with 14.333 points, while Arthur Avetisyan earned bronze in the same event with a score of 14.200.
Armenia's gymnasts have participated in four out of five World Cup stages so far this year, with strong performances across the board. In February, during the first stage held in Cottbus, Germany, Arthur Davtyan won gold in vault, while Vahagn Davtyan topped the rings event.
The second stage took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, where the Armenian team did not participate. However, they returned to action in March in Antalya, Turkey, where Arthur Davtyan again triumphed in the vault event.
Earlier this month, in the fourth stage in Osijek, Croatia, the Armenian team finished with one gold and two bronze medals. Hamlet Manukyan once again impressed, winning gold on the pommel horse with a score of 14.633. Arthur Davtyan added a bronze in vault, and Arthur Avetisyan secured another bronze on the rings.
