Tensions escalated in the region as the Azerbaijani military violated the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) ceasefire in three separate directions from 11:05 on June 19 until 7:55 on June 20, according to a statement released by the Artsakh Ministry of Defense on Tuesday.
The ceasefire breach involved the use of small arms fire in the directions of Martuni, Shushi, and Martakert. Fortunately, no casualties were reported from the Artsakh side.
Local authorities promptly reported the incident to the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, who are maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Despite the ceasefire violation, the situation on the line of contact appeared to be relatively stable as of 9:15 on June 20, as confirmed by the Ministry of Defense.
The violation of the ceasefire underscores the fragility of the situation in Artsakh, calling for continued vigilance and commitment to preserving stability and security in the area.
