Azerbaijani Armed Forces Open Fire Near Kakhakn Village in Gegharkunik Province
On June 22, at 5:40 p.m., Azerbaijani armed forces units opened fire from different caliber small arms against the Armenian combat positions in the vicinity of Kakhakn village in Gegharkunik Province, as reported by the Armenian Defense Ministry.
There have been no reported casualties from the Armenian side as a result of the incident.
The situation in the region remains tense as Azerbaijan repeatedly keeps violating the ceasefire, raising concerns about the stability of the area following the 2020 Second Artsakh War.
Both Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed to a ceasefire mediated by Russia, but violations have been reported intermittently, leading to casualties and potential risks to the delicate peace in the region.
The international community is closely monitoring the situation and calling for strict adherence to the ceasefire agreement to prevent further escalations and promote lasting peace in the territory.
