Armenia has officially selected its representative for the 69th Eurovision Song Contest. PARG, a rising star in the Armenian music scene, has won the national competition 'Depi Evratesil' and will take the stage in Basel, Switzerland, this May. His song, Survivor, is expected to make a strong impact at the international competition.

Who is PARG?

PARG, whose real name is Pargev Vardanian, is an Armenian artist known for blending indie-folk, R&B, pop, and rock. His unique sound combines traditional Armenian musical elements with modern production, making him one of the most innovative artists in Armenia today. Since his debut in 2021 with the single Ginin u Grely, PARG has built a loyal following. His latest release, Araj, was even nominated for Best Music Video at the Armenian Music Video Awards.

With his distinct style and passion for storytelling through music, PARG is ready to introduce a fresh and powerful Armenian sound to the Eurovision stage.

Armenia's Selection Process

This year’s Armenian selection for Eurovision was part of the "Towards Eurovision" project. Twelve contestants, including solo artists, groups, and duets, competed for the honor of representing Armenia in Basel. The winner was determined through a combination of jury votes and public support, with PARG emerging victorious.

His song, Survivor, was crafted with the help of internationally acclaimed songwriters Thomas G:son and Peter Boström. The duo is known for their work on Tattoo, the song that won Eurovision 2023 for Sweden’s Loreen. With such a strong team behind Survivor, expectations are high for Armenia’s performance in Basel.

Armenia’s History at Eurovision

Since debuting in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, Armenia has consistently performed well, often securing Top 10 placements. Notable performances include Sirusho in 2008 and Aram MP3 in 2014, both of whom finished in fourth place. In 2022, Rosa Linn’s song Snap became a global sensation after going viral on TikTok, eventually surpassing a billion streams on Spotify—a milestone previously reached only by Duncan Laurence’s Arcade from Eurovision 2019.

Though Armenia has yet to secure a Eurovision victory, the country has demonstrated its musical strength on the junior stage. Armenia has won and hosted the Junior Eurovision Song Contest twice, thanks to victories by Vladimir Arzumanyan in 2010 and Maléna in 2021.

Eurovision 2025: What’s Next?

The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will take place in Basel, Switzerland, with the semi-finals scheduled for May 13 and 15, and the grand final set for May 17. PARG will aim to capture audiences across Europe and beyond, hoping to achieve Armenia’s best result yet—or even bring home the country’s first Eurovision victory.

As anticipation builds, Armenian fans are eager to see how Survivor will resonate with international audiences. With a fresh artist like PARG leading the charge, Armenia’s Eurovision journey in 2025 promises to be one to watch.
