Transgender Woman Diana Ghzroyan to Represent Armenia at International Beauty Contest for the First Time
For the first time in history, Armenia will be represented in the "Miss Star International" beauty transgender contest, and the person representing it is Diana Ghzroyan, a transgender model and activist. The competition is scheduled to be held in December 2024 in São Paulo, Brazil.
Ghzroyan made the announcement on her Facebook page, where she expressed her deep joy and pride in being selected for the competition. In her post, she described this opportunity as the fulfillment of one of her lifelong dreams.
Ghzroyan emphasized that this moment was more than just a personal victory—it is also a breakthrough for her country. For the first time, Armenia, a nation with a traditional and sometimes conservative cultural background, will take part in an event of this scale that celebrates transgender beauty. Ghzroyan is proud to represent her country on such a global stage, and she hopes her participation will bring attention to important social issues.
In her post, she said: “A very big event happened in my life, which can be said to have been one of the big dreams of my life. For the first time, Armenia will participate in the Miss Star International beauty contest, which will take place in December 2024 in São Paulo, Brazil, and I will represent our country with great honor."
For Ghzroyan, the competition is about more than beauty. It’s an opportunity to address larger social issues. In her message, she highlighted that the platform of Miss Star International will allow her to advocate for the rights of transgender individuals, raise her voice against discrimination, and promote equality.
She expressed her excitement at the chance to inspire others from a global stage, adding, “I am extremely happy and proud to have taken on this responsibility. Because this is not only a competition, but also an opportunity to raise my voice against discrimination and inequality from such a wide platform.”
As the competition approaches, Ghzroyan has asked for the support of her followers, friends, and loved ones. She shared that while she feels honored to carry the flag of Armenia, she knows that her journey will be more successful with the backing of her community. She urged her supporters to continue following her journey as she prepares for the big event in December.
“I need your support in order to be confident in the contest," she said. Her post concluded with words of encouragement for others to stay engaged: "Keep following my page in order not to miss important news."
