TUMO Center Set to Open in Amsterdam, Netherlands
The TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, known for its innovative educational approach, is gearing up to establish its first center in the Netherlands, with plans to open its doors in early 2025 in Amsterdam. This is a significant expansion for TUMO, bringing its unique educational model to a new European city.
The upcoming TUMO Amsterdam center will have the capacity to accommodate up to 1,000 students, providing opportunities for young people to delve into various creative fields. Additionally, plans are underway to establish two additional TUMO boxes in the near future, which will enable hundreds more young individuals to benefit from TUMO's innovative education.
The official launch of the project took place on April 16, with key figures such as TUMO’s Chief Development Officer Pegor Papazian and Amsterdam’s Deputy Mayor Alexander Scholtes in attendance. The project is made possible through a collaborative effort involving various partners, including the City Hall and Public Library of Amsterdam, along with companies like TomTom, Adyen, Just Eat Takeaway.com, and Miro.
Situated in the Amsterdam-Zuidoost area, the TUMO Amsterdam center will be seamlessly integrated into the OBA Next innovation lab and later incorporated into the Amsterdam Library of the Future. Amsterdam's youth will have access to a diverse array of learning areas, including game development, programming, robotics, drawing, and music. Moreover, the center plans to engage prospective students and their parents in selecting the remaining three learning areas through an open vote.
TUMO Amsterdam signifies the 10th international TUMO center, expanding its reach beyond its origins in Armenia to cities like Paris, Lyon, Berlin, Mannheim, Zurich, Coimbra, Kyiv, Tirana, and Beirut. With its innovative approach to education, TUMO aims to empower young minds worldwide to explore their creativity and potential in various fields of technology and the arts.
